The final touches are being added by my publishing company and my book, Mama Needs a Refill: Finding Light in the Midst of Madness will be out this Fall.
Picking the cover was the hardest.
I had a vision. I had a list of “no ways–not that.” I sought out the opinions of others. They had insight, questions, and good and helpful wisdom to share.
I don’t know if I’m an influencer, but I definitely am influenced, the opinions of others matter. I care what others think. I want to make the right decision.
This can be a problem if I’m not grounded in what I want and think. That can be the heart of it–not knowing what I want or think. I like it all. I see all sides. Both arguments always make sense to me. I believe this AND that. When it came to deciding on the book cover, I had to apply some of the tools I share in my book about discernment.
- Don’t just think with my head.
- Decide with using the wisdom of my heart, body, and spirit.
- Listen to others but decide for me not them.
- Remember I can’t please everyone.
- Use visualization–what can I see on a bookshelf or my coffee table, for example.
- Choose the one that gives me the most peace.
I offer you the same. Can one or more of the bullet points above help you in a decision that has you scratching your head?
Decisions can be tough but when you drop out of your head and utilize other parts of your wise self, choices unfold with greater ease. Don’t look back, trust the unfolding, trust yourself.
Cheers, Jenny
