Last weekend I flew to Sacramento to give a retrea Last weekend I flew to Sacramento to give a retreat for 40 people. 12 came and it was frick'in awesome. I love small groups even though I was ready for 40. The 12 parents with children who have disabilities showed up fully. They engaged, listened, shared, and recognized that the five hours of retreating was exactly what they needed to then go back home and be present. My children don't have special needs or disabilities that prevent them from doing things they want to do, I don't have that particular parenting skill, but when I brought my vulnerability and compassion to the table, we learned from each other.
