Dear Holder of the Cup,
I have been quiet during this Covid pandemic-social injustice and Black Lives Matter-wild fire and hurricane-kids home for school-presidential election-mask wearing season these past six months. I didn’t want to post a blog just to post a blog, I wanted to share something of substance and not just talk to talk.
What would I say if you were a friend, client or loved one? Hold on. Find something every day to celebrate. Use your voice for good. Make a connection every single day–whether it’s to your best self, Higher Power, friend, neighbor, dog or cat. Choose faith over fear, love over hate, joy over pain. Don’t fear the unknown, lean into it. Anchor to that which gives you hope. Turn off the noise.
During this time, my clients have been blowing my socks off with their resiliency. Unafraid of change, they are digging deep and showing up to themselves.
What else would I say if you were a friend, client or loved one? In the future what would you want to remember about this time? How would you want to look back and remember how you handled this all? Do that. Be that.
Stand tall, don’t give up, cling to faith, create joy, be the calm in the storm, and the peace in your cup when it appears like everything is crumbling.
I’m here quietly working on my writing projects, meeting on the phone with clients, taking breaks to make soup for my family, breathe and step outside to pick more tomatoes. I’m here if you are looking for a life coach to walk with during the chaos so that you can be reminded of who you are and what you are made of. I’m here tending the fire, donning my mask when we run out of eggs and it’s time to go to the store.
The last thing I would say if you were a friend, client or loved one? Spend time loving yourself today so that tomorrow you can love your neighbor, friend, loved one and the stranger in the egg aisle the same way.
Cheers, Jenny
